Andrew is a lifelong sports enthusiast, both throughout his professional career and personal life. He has worked within the sports development field for over 10 years for third sector charitable organisations and governing bodies, in programme design, management and impact assessment. Andrew has been a qualified endurance athletics coach since 2007, coaching athletes of all ages and abilities, participating in the full range of distance events. Nutrition, out of all the component parts that combine to determine sporting performance was always one of the most interesting and compelling aspects to Andrew and in 2016 he was awarded an MSc in Applied Sports Nutrition with Distinction from St. Mary’s University.
Fuelling Your Adventures was formed as a vehicle for Andrew (and now Tania and Claire) to provide evidence-based, personalised nutritional support and education to endurance athletes. Andrew is currently working with WorldTour professional cyclist Alice Cobb (Lares-Waowdeals), multi-national and european champion Cyclocross rider Helen Wyman (Kona Factory Racing) as well as supporting the NEXT Wyman Cyclocross Development Project and Matrix Pro Cycling. Additionally, Andrew is currently advising a Commonwealth Games Heptathlete as well several recreational multi-sport and ultra-endurance athletes with many varied and interesting goals.
Andrew regularly participates in cyclocross, cross-country/trail and road running and duathlons. In 2012, he cycled from London to Paris in less than 24 hours. He holds a particular love for the autumn, cyclocross, x-country, forests, mountains, duathlon and Scottish Rugby Union (not to mention the Manic Street Preachers and other great music).
